Flowers of War

Two weeks ago, I went to watch the movie “Flowers of War” after I saw the trailer on youtube. The director Yimou Zhang knew how to attract the audience’s attention from the first few minutes of the movie.

A screenshot from the movie

The movie is about a Westerner who  finds refuge with a group of women in a church during Japan’s rape of Nanking in 1937. Posing as a priest, he attempts to lead the women to safety.

The movie was written in an intelligent way as well as the direction and the story board. The sound effects and the Image style were an essential elements to fascinate us. Today the Flowers of War will be added as a successful and intelligent feature film to the China’s Culture.

As the Director said in one of his quotes: “Many things, feelings especially, are common to all human beings. As long as the film appeals to universal human feelings, all audiences will enjoy it.” Flower of War is a must.

Meanwhile Enjoy watching the Trailer!!
